HMSA welcomes Raethel to senior management position

The Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA) today announced that Hilton R. Raethel
has joined the nonprofit health plan as a senior vice president. Raethel oversees
HMSA’s Provider Services department, Health Services Delivery division, and
Integrated Services, Inc., a subsidiary of HMSA.
Prior to joining HMSA, Raethel was vice president of Contracting and Decision Support
at Hawaii Pacific Health. He was director of Contracting at Straub Clinic &
Hospital before joining Hawaii Pacific Health. Raethel also served as director of
Contract Reimbursement at Loma Linda University Medical Center (Adventist Health)
before moving to Hawaii in 2000.
Raethel is a graduate of Pacific Union College with a degree in psychology, and
earned a Masters in Public Health and a Masters of Health Administration from Loma
Linda University in California.
HMSA is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
