in Hawaii, offering flexibility, peace of mind, and coverage for these comprehensive
medical benefits:

Why Free Choice?
Your choice of doctors is important to you. HMSA’s PPP gives you the freedom
to see any doctor you choose, whether in or out of network, and without a referral.
- Pay less with an HMSA participating provider, but receive benefits for out-of-network
providers as well.
- There is no need to select a primary care physician (PCP) to manage your care or
make referrals.
Largest Participating Provider Network
HMSA’s PPP offers you access to the largest network of physicians, hospitals,
and other health care providers in Hawaii. More than 5,000 health care providers
in Hawaii participate in HMSA’s network. That’s more than 95 percent
of the state’s physicians, so there’s a good chance you won’t
have to switch doctors. When you select a participating provider, they will file
your claims for you and accept your copayment as payment in full.

Coverage that Travels with You
HMSA provides you with peace of mind if you need medical attention while traveling
outside Hawaii. HMSA belongs to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield network of health
care providers, so you can rely on the BlueCard® Program for
access to the nation’s largest network. BlueCard offers you coverage coast
to coast with access to over 500,000 providers nationwide. Outside the United States,
you have access to doctors and hospitals in more than 200 countries and territories
around the world through the BlueCard Worldwide Program.
Health and Wellness Programs
HMSA offers you a variety of health and wellness programs designed to help you develop
and maintain a healthy lifestyle. This includes HealthPass and Care Connection,
HMSA’s nationally recognized health assessment and disease management programs.

your employer regarding your health plan benefits.
