Containing costs and providing access to quality care have always been part of HMSA’s
mission throughout our more than 70 years of serving the people of Hawaii. So health
care reform is in line with our philosophy. True reform can only happen with the
involvement of everyone –– health plans, the government, employers,
providers and members. We all need to cooperate in providing solutions within the
health care system.

care reform legislation. This overview is intended for educational purposes and
