As health care in Hawaii gets more and more expensive, complex and unpredictable, HMSA continues to work hard for our members. Our mission has always been to provide quality, affordable health plans for the people of Hawaii. That mission has guided us since 1938 and is more relevant than ever in today’s challenging economy. We are the company you can count on for your health, your family, your future.

On the national stage and here at home, health care continues to be intensely debated. Issues include costs and financing, health plan benefits and coverage, convenient and reliable access to care, and the quality of the care we receive. Any changes to health care must be sustainable and not just short-term solutions. While we all may not agree on the details, we think we can all agree that our current health care system leaves room for improvement. Each of our lives is affected by health care, so we each have a stake in our health care system.

In Hawaii, we have an opportunity to create a sustainable health care system that balances our community’s many needs with limited resources. At HMSA, we understand the importance of working with lawmakers, employers, and health care providers to find real solutions on behalf of our members and our community. We are resolute to help lead the discussion and are eager to contribute our experience, knowledge and resources.

Our commitment to our members and the people of Hawaii remains steadfast. We embrace the opportunity to provide leadership in health care, and we look forward to working with each of you to succeed.
